Nu Deco recently kicked off their revolutionary live stream performance season, featuring orchestral collaborations with Jose James, Larkin Poe, Cory Wong, Richard Bona, Cory Henry and more. This is the first installment of the Nu Deco Ensemble+ Series-an ongoing collection of archived recordings performed in various venues in vibrant Miami, FL with some of music’s top talents. The EP finds the genre-bending ensemble and noted AfroCubanFunk artist joining forces for an explosive live music experience combining funk, Afrobeat and orchestral sounds. The video premiere follows the release of Nu Deco’s new EP, Nu Deco Ensemble + Cimafunk: Live in Miami. “Sam Hyken created a vast and spacious suite that is cinematic in feeling, while also honoring the iconic music of Depeche Mode’s diverse catalogue.” “This was the first contemporary artists suite we performed at the acoustically sensational New World Center and we wanted to go all out,” elaborates Nu Deco co-founder and artistic director, Jacomo Bairos. “Throughout their career they have created music that demonstrates a wide range of emotion, and we feel the orchestra is a perfect setting for this.” “On the 40th anniversary of their formation, we are thrilled to share our re-imagining of the eclectic and highly influential music of Depeche Mode,” shares Nu Deco co-founder and artistic director, Sam Hyken.

Fans can tune-in to the live premiere of the performance video here. The video, which was originally recorded at Miami’s New World Center in April 2018, finds the ensemble performing a symphonic suite of classic Depeche Mode songs such as “Just Can’t Get Enough,” “Fly on the Windshield,” “Love In Itself,” “Enjoy the Silence” and “Personal Jesus.” The video release coincides with Give Miami Day 2020, hosted by the Miami Foundation, which brings attention and awareness to the hundreds of nonprofits in the Miami community.
